“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
THOUGHT FOR TONIGHT:
The more you hold your life back from God,
the lesser way you’ll find your purpose in life.
Sometimes God allows us to lose everything we have just for us to realize what we truly need.
He takes away anything that we put our security in to (money, career, ambition…) to show us that we live not for those things, but, we live for a greater purpose… a purpose we can only fully understand if we surrender our life to Him.
SURRENDER and LIVE.
Last week God gave me the opportunity to minister to a friend who I haven’t talked to for a long time. I buzzed him just to ask about some common friends we have but I believe the Holy Spirit led us to a conversation that will change our lives.
What will you do if a friend shares with you something about the sins he’s struggling with? What will you say?
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” – Romans 8:1
I saw this video and I believe this is the message God wants us all to hear.
YOUR LIFE IS NOT A JUNK.
YOU ARE NOT A JUNK.
GOD MADE YOU HIS ORIGINAL MASTERPIECE.
If you treat your ministry (just) as an obligation, you’re doing it just because you have to. You will later find yourself serving the kingdom more than the King. You will either lose your fire or lose control.
But if you see your ministry as a sacrifice, you’ll find a greater purpose in what you’re doing. You choose to get out of your comfort zone just to serve the King and to witness His unfathomable plans unfold infront of you. You will also feel a certain kind of fulfillment that only God can reward you, a fulfillment no earthly things or people’s applause could surpass. Every effort you do is not in vain. Every discouragement you receive only makes you stronger and every obstacle you encounter only makes you love your ministry more.
Now I choose to sacrifice.

highest place and gave Him the name that is above
every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for
there is no other name under heaven given to men by
which we must be saved.”
Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will accompany
those who believe: In my name they will drive out
demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will
pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink
deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will

Let’s all spend a few minutes of our day praying for the people of Haiti. We all know what happened to their country. A 7.0 magnitude tremor killed thousands of people and destroyed hundreds of homes. *sigh* After the terror that brought by the typhoon Ondoy, I can’t help but shiver whenever I hear another natural calamity. Trauma?
But God’s word takes away all my fears. Our Father is the Creator of the universe! Yes,the universe-making God who calms a raging storm! Why should I be afraid?
Aftershocks rattled the city as women covered in dust clawed out of debris, wailing. Stunned people wandered the streets holding hands. Thousands gathered in public squares long after nightfall, singing hymns.
It was clear tens of thousands lost their homes and many perished in collapsed buildings flimsy and dangerous even under normal conditions.
“The hospitals cannot handle all these victims,” Dr. Louis-Gerard Gilles, a former senator, said as he helped survivors. “Haiti needs to pray. We all need to pray together.”
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
1 Timothy 4:12-16
Living a good life testimony is not as easy as you think… if you’re on your own. The year 2009 had been really tough for me. The struggle to be consistent with my spiritual walk became harder because I failed to hold on to His word religiously everyday. This is what happens when you start to entertain other things in your life which will later end up as wrong priorities. Instead of fixing your eyes unto Him, you get distracted. But this verse reminds me of how important it is to be diligent and faithful in all aspects of my life. Our life belongs to God ,therefore, it should also mirror “God”.
We give our best to our ministries to serve our King, but along the way, our efforts become an important moving force in other people’s lives. People are saved just by listening or witnessing to one’s life story but they stumble too just by doing the same. You see, that’s where the Grace of God comes in. We can never be worthy to be called as “role models in faith” but we can be a living testimony of God’s grace. If you’re thinking that your life may be a piece of junk right now, “stop!”. Remember that your life is not all about you. Your life is a story of God’s grace. It may be a piece of junk to you but the testimony of your life can lead someone to an eternal treasure in heaven.
A good example has more value than good advice.
Watch this video of Patrick Hughes and be inspired by his faith and determination.
If he can praise and worship God inspite of his condition, what about us?

But a heart that is most completely delighting itself in the Lord is one that is not concerned with the affairs of this world. Rather, desiring to have more of Him.
If we take a whole-hearted satisfaction in Jesus, he will mold and shape our hearts so that we have proper desires.
In doing so, as we commit our path to He will be faithful to establish our ways before Him. It’s certainly one thing to get what you want from God, but I think you will agree it is another thing to be transformed by Him…

“Leaving” someone behind is a normal scenario.

…for the one who gets left behind, take heart.
The thought of having a heavenly Father whose love knows no distance and bounderies is comforting enough.
A part of you empties when someone leaves but that part is filled up by “Faith”.
